What the report says

Gematsu reports that Xbox has outlined its Gamescom 2026 program, with the event scheduled for August 26 to 30 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. According to the report, Xbox plans a large show-floor presence featuring 25 upcoming games across 140 play stations, combining first-party titles with partner games and community programming tied to the brand’s 25th anniversary.

The announced playable and presentation lineup includes major Xbox-related releases such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Fable, Forza Horizon 6, Gears of War: E-Day, Halo: Campaign Evolved, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Minecraft Dungeons II. Gematsu also lists third-party games planned for the booth, including Alien: Isolation 2, METRO 2039, STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, Star Wars Zero Company, Turok: Origins, The Blood of Dawnwalker and others. Several titles are described as receiving first public hands-on opportunities or public gameplay presentations.

Xbox also plans live broadcasts from its booth on YouTube and Twitch beginning at 4:00 p.m. CEST on August 26 and 27, with developer interviews, guests, gameplay reveals and trailers. The booth is listed for Hall 7, booth A-0.61, with public hours from August 27 through August 30. Xbox FanFest is also set to return in Cologne on the evening of August 26, with sweepstakes details to be shared through official channels.

The plans matter because Gamescom is one of the industry’s largest public gaming events, and Xbox is using the 2026 show to spotlight both its own pipeline and third-party partnerships. Gematsu’s report also notes accessibility measures, including wheelchair access, adaptive controllers, interpreters, audio descriptions and reduced-sensory options.
