Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has criticised Wrexham’s transfer activity after the Welsh club made a bid for attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare. BBC Sport reported that Wilder described Wrexham’s approach as a "blanket bombing" effort in the closing stages of the summer window, saying the club were making offers for several players in similar positions. Wrexham are trying to strengthen before the Tuesday night deadline, with manager Phil Parkinson said to want an attacking midfielder.

The bid for O’Hare is understood to be worth about £6.5m. Wilder said he would prefer the 28-year-old to remain at Bramall Lane, while noting that the decision would be handled by the relevant officials at Sheffield United. He also told O’Hare to focus on Tuesday’s game unless the situation changes.

O’Hare is in his third season with Sheffield United and has played in all five of their matches so far this campaign, scoring against Cardiff City and in the EFL Cup win over Mansfield Town. The former Aston Villa, Carlisle United and Coventry City player has two years left on his contract.
