Gematsu reports that When Tides Turn, a new studio established by Criterion Games co-founder Fiona Sperry, has announced Wreckreation 2, a sequel to the 2025 open-world arcade racer Wreckreation. The game is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC through Steam, but the announcement did not include a release date.

According to the report, Sperry said in a press release that the studio has spent recent months speaking with players about what they want from a contemporary arcade driving game. She said community input has influenced areas such as handling, progression, event structure and world design, framing the project as one being developed with player feedback in mind.

Details from the game’s Steam page describe Wreckreation 2 as a combat-focused arcade racer where collisions, shortcuts and takedowns can affect the outcome of races. The setting is Heartbreak City, an open-world map with districts including downtown streets, elevated freeways, airport runways, dockyards and hidden routes. The announced modes include Race, Road Rage, Marked Man, Pursuits, Blackspots, Wreckonings and Eliminators, alongside a Live Mix feature for creating and sharing custom experiences. Gematsu also noted that an announcement trailer and initial screenshots were released.
