Woman injures three people in third Poland school knife attack in a week

What the report says
Polish police say a woman has been arrested after three people were injured in a knife attack at a school in Warsaw, the third school stabbing reported in Poland in the same week. According to BBC World News, the suspect is 21 and used a "dangerous object" at an educational institution in the capital. Police told news agencies that one of the victims was a 17-year-old girl.
Authorities said the injured teenager was taken to hospital, though her condition is not considered life-threatening. Two other victims, women aged 17 and 24 who had reportedly come to submit enrolment documents, were also hurt. Police told local media that the suspect was a student at the school and that initial findings suggest she did not know the people injured.
The incident followed heightened security across Polish schools after two earlier attacks earlier in the week. One of those attacks killed a 37-year-old caretaker at a primary school north of Warsaw, while another injured nine people at a vocational school in central Poland. Polish authorities have said they were investigating whether this week’s incidents may be linked, including a possible internet challenge, but the Warsaw police said they could not confirm any connection.
The string of attacks has prompted a major police deployment to schools and renewed concern about safety for children and staff across the country.
