PhillyVoice reported July 29 that the Philadelphia Eagles may be finished with contract extensions for the current cycle after securing long-term deals with defensive linemen Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis. Writing for PhillyVoice, Jimmy Kempski framed the next major wave of business as more likely to come in 2027, when Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean and Jalyx Hunt become eligible for new agreements.

The clearest near-term name discussed was right guard Tyler Steen, who became the starter in 2025 after earlier camp competitions with Cam Jurgens and Mekhi Becton. PhillyVoice noted Steen played 1,009 offensive snaps, the most among Eagles offensive players, and was charged by PFF with allowing two sacks. Kempski argued an extension could make sense for the team if affordable, while Steen may prefer to wait for a stronger free-agent market.

For edge rusher Nolan Smith, PhillyVoice’s assessment was more cautious.
