Al Jazeera reported that smoke from Canadian wildfires has raised questions over whether the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina can proceed as planned at New York/New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford. Detroit and Chicago recorded more severe readings, and forecasters warned smoke could increase again into Saturday.
