Crystal Palace will wear a white home shirt throughout the 2026-27 Premier League season, BBC Sport reports, marking the first time in nearly 20 years that the club has made white its main home colour. The change comes with the familiar blue and red sash across the chest, keeping Palace’s traditional colours visible even as the base shirt turns white.

According to the club, the design is meant as a tribute to a shirt used 50 years ago. BBC Sport says Palace first used a sash in the mid-1970s, around the time of their FA Cup semi-final run, and then carried a similar white strip into the following season and again in parts of the early 1980s. The kit also features Palace’s former circular badge, which the club used between 1973 and 1987.

The new home shirt was first worn in competition in Palace’s 2-0 defeat away to Everton at the opening of the season. The team are due to wear it at Selhurst Park for the first time when they host Manchester City in their first home match. BBC Sport notes that the last time Palace had a white home kit was in 2008-09, when they were in the Championship.
