What the report says

Arsenal’s transfer plans remain active after a mixed window, according to BBC Sport Football. The club missed out on a move for Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr, but have already brought in Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes for £75m, a signing presented as one that strengthens Mikel Arteta’s squad immediately. Arteta said the club is still trying to add the right player if one becomes available before the deadline.

BBC Sport says Arsenal are considering options in attack and on the left side of the frontline, with names such as PSG winger Bradley Barcola, Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams linked. The report also notes that Arsenal already have other wide options, including Christos Tzolis, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke, while acknowledging that some targets may be difficult to land because of high fees, new contracts or other clubs’ interest.

Defence is another area of concern because Jurrien Timber and William Saliba are both expected to miss the start of the season through injury. That has increased interest in centre-back targets including Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa and Tottenham captain Cristian Romero, though a move for Romero is described as unlikely. Up front, Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez is also said to be on Arsenal’s radar, but Barcelona are among the other clubs following him. The broader picture is that Arsenal are trying to improve quickly while also balancing possible departures from their squad.
