What the report says

Billboard reported that several songs featured around the 2026 FIFA World Cup final saw same-day U.S. streaming gains after the July 19 event at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The final, played between Spain and Argentina, included FIFA’s first World Cup final halftime show, with Shakira among the performers, according to the article.

Citing preliminary Luminate data, Billboard said “Dai Dai,” the Shakira and Burna Boy collaboration tied to the tournament as its official song, posted the largest single-day streaming total among the halftime songs highlighted. It drew 979,000 chart-eligible on-demand U.S. streams on July 19, up 25% from 785,000 the previous day. The song was already at a new No. 42 peak on the Billboard Hot 100 dated July 25, and the article noted the latest activity could help it rise again.

The biggest percentage jump among the halftime selections went to Justin Bieber’s “Everything Hallelujah,” which rose 34% to 130,000 U.S. streams after his guitar-only performance, Billboard reported. BTS’ “Dynamite” increased 13% to 160,000 streams, while Madonna’s “Music” edged up 6% to 33,000. Both “Dynamite” and “Music” are former Hot 100 No. 1 singles.

Billboard also noted gains outside the halftime set: iShowSpeed’s “Champions,” performed during the pre-game closing ceremony and released in connection with the 2026 World Cup, climbed 61% to 125,000 streams. The performance-related activity is expected to be reflected on Billboard charts dated Aug. 1, scheduled for publication July 28.
