Voters in South Carolina, Georgia and Oklahoma are heading to the polls for a series of special elections and run-offs that will help shape the November US midterm contests, according to Al Jazeera. In South Carolina, Republicans are choosing a nominee to fill the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s place on the ballot for the Senate race. Al Jazeera reported that Darline Graham finished first in the earlier primary but did not clear the threshold to avoid a run-off. The winner will face Democratic nominee Annie Andrews in November.

In Oklahoma, Republicans are holding a run-off for governor after no candidate won outright in the primary. The contest features Attorney General Gentner Drummond and former state Sen. Mike Mazzei. Democrats are also settling a Senate primary between N’Kiyla Jasmine Thomas and Jim Priest. In addition, voters will decide ballot measures, including one on voter identification. The eventual winners will go on to face Republican and Democratic opponents in November.

Georgia’s 13th Congressional District is holding a special election run-off to replace the late Democratic Rep. David Scott. The two finalists are former Gwinnett County School Board Chairman Everton Blair and Marcye Scott, the congressman’s daughter. The seat will be filled for the rest of the current term, adding to the broader picture of a narrowly divided House and Senate heading into the midterms.
