What the report says

BBC Sport’s Fantasy Premier League columnist FPL Pras used his gameweek six Q&A to guide managers through several common squad dilemmas. The main focus was Chelsea forward Joao Pedro, who remains in roughly two-thirds of teams despite being heavily sold during the international break. Pras said the player still offers strong value for money and benefits from an attractive Chelsea fixture run, so he would be kept unless Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso rules him out completely.

The piece also weighed up captaincy choices for the week, with Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka and Bruno Fernandes all under consideration. Pras suggested Fernandes has the best fixture, but noted that Haaland remains the safest choice, while Palmer and Saka could appeal for managers wanting a more differential option. He flagged concerns around Saka’s early kick-off after a break and Palmer’s link to Pedro’s fitness.

Elsewhere, Pras advised against bringing in Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa for now because of a minor issue from England duty, while saying current owners should probably hold. He highlighted Fulham midfielder Gonzalo Garcia, who may be on penalties, and Josh King as possible budget-enabling picks because of favourable upcoming fixtures and encouraging underlying numbers.

The expert was more cautious on Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, saying his role limits his attacking upside, but stopped short of urging an immediate sale. By contrast, Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross was described as close to a must-buy at under £6m, with regular minutes, decent recent output and a useful run of matches helping his appeal.
