West Brom in talks over permanent Collyer return

What the report says
Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer is in early discussions with West Bromwich Albion about a permanent move back to The Hawthorns, according to BBC Sport Football. The 22-year-old spent part of last season on loan at West Brom before returning to United in January, and he is now being linked with another switch as his future is assessed during the transfer window.
BBC Sport reports that Collyer has still been involved in United’s pre-season plans, including a second-half appearance in last week’s draw with Leeds United in Dublin when Mason Mount was unavailable through injury. Even so, it had been expected for some time that he could leave Old Trafford, with talks over a transfer described as only at an early stage.
Collyer made 12 appearances for West Brom during his loan spell, with three starts, before his return to Manchester. He later joined Hull City after recovering from a calf problem, but fitness issues limited him to five appearances there. Hull were also understood to have an interest in bringing him back after their promotion to the Premier League, although no agreement has been reached.
If completed, a permanent move would give West Brom another chance to add a player they know well, while United would continue trimming their squad ahead of the new season.
