What the report says

International direct-selling company QNET said its work with law enforcement agencies in West Africa has helped rescue more than 300 suspected scam victims in Ghana, as the company steps up efforts against fraud linked to people misusing its name. The report, carried by The Liberian Investigator and distributed by AllAfrica, said the disclosures were made during media webinars held on Oct. 22 as part of QNET VCON Malaysia 2026.

According to QNET regional manager Cherif Sarr, cooperation with Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office has helped identify suspected fraud networks and support victims. The company also said it has referred 158 cases to authorities, assisted more than 3,000 people in returning to their countries or families, and terminated 141 distributor accounts between 2025 and October 2026 for policy violations. Among those accounts, 26 were said to be tied to alleged false cross-border movement.

QNET said it is using memorandums of understanding, workshops and intelligence-sharing with agencies including INTERPOL, and has endorsed the UNODC-INTERPOL Global Public-Private Partnership Framework Against Fraud. It reiterated a zero-tolerance policy on deceptive recruitment, fraudulent job offers and other abuses of its brand. The company also said its “QNET Against Scams” campaign, launched in August 2024, has been rolled out in Ghana, Sierra Leone and Senegal, with wider expansion planned.

The webinars also featured journalists from Liberia and Sierra Leone who recently visited QNET’s Malaysia headquarters and said the trip helped them question company officials directly about the allegations.
