‘We Break Jaws and Teeth’: Eight Arrested Over Viral Gang Attack Video

Police in Old Kampala have arrested eight suspects after a viral social media video allegedly showed a group boasting about violent attacks on members of the public, according to Watchdog Uganda. The publication said the video appeared to feature about six individuals claiming they had broken victims’ jaws and teeth and threatening medical workers, including dentists, in connection with treatment for attack injuries.

Watchdog Uganda reported that the arrests followed intelligence-led investigations and an operation on September 8, 2026, at Gojo Gym in Namungona, Lubya Parish, Rubaga Division, in Kampala District. Police said four of those arrested were among people seen in the video, while others were found at the gym during the raid. The suspects were identified as Matiti Mohammed, also known as Beast-Commander; Nurudin Kasule, also known as 2 I/C; Umar Mubiru; Lukooya Adams; Kiyimba Martin; Alinda Yosam Junior; Walumu James; and Elvis Simanya.

Preliminary police findings, as summarized by the publisher, suggest the gym was being used as a meeting point rather than solely for boxing training. Investigators suspect the group may also be tied to robberies, housebreaking, theft, phone snatching, use of deadly weapons and unlawful possession of narcotic substances.

The suspects remain in custody as police continue efforts to identify other people in the video and any alleged victims. The case matters because it points to the use of social media to publicize alleged gang violence and to wider concerns about organized street crime in Kampala. Watchdog Uganda said police have asked the public to share information that could support the investigation.
