Vivo Energy upgrades Shell Amber Court station in Jinja

What the report says
Vivo Energy Uganda has upgraded its Shell Amber Court service station in Jinja City, expanding the site’s fuel capacity and adding more retail and vehicle-service options, according to The Independent Uganda. The redevelopment increases fuelling points from four to eight and enlarges the Shell Select shop, fuel storage and service bay as the company responds to changing customer needs.
The station, which was unveiled on October 8, 2026, now includes dining and support services from several partners, among them Java House, KFC Uganda, Norfrax Forex Bureau, a Stanbic Bank ATM, GoodLife Pharmacy and an MTN Uganda service centre. The article also says Java House has doubled the size of its outlet and that the vehicle service area now has an additional lane, with a separate space for boda boda riders.
Vivo Energy said the project raises land use at the site from about 65% to more than 90% and incorporates Shell’s latest global visual identity. Company executives described the investment as part of a wider plan to modernize its network and make service stations more convenient for customers who may want fuel, food, banking, shopping or vehicle maintenance in one stop.
Jinja’s role as a transport, commerce and tourism hub was cited as a reason the location remains important for future investment. Vivo Energy Uganda said it continues to expand and modernize its retail network across the country, though the report did not provide a project cost or timeline for further upgrades.
