What the report says

Vivo Energy Uganda has commissioned on-site bulk fuel storage and dispensing systems at Kiira Motors Corporation in Jinja and West International Holding (WIH) Cement in Moroto, according to The Independent Uganda. The installations are meant to reduce fuel-supply disruptions for two industrial sites and give both companies direct access to Shell-branded fuels and lubricants at their own facilities.

The reported setup includes storage tanks, automated dispensing equipment and digital fuel-management tools. Vivo Energy said the arrangement is designed to improve fuel availability, track consumption and limit losses through automated monitoring and spill-control measures. The company said the project fits its commercial customer strategy, which focuses on helping industrial clients manage costs and keep production running.

Vivo Energy Uganda managing director Joanita Mukasa Menya said the company wants to ease logistical challenges for large sites, while group head of commercial business Aminata Sarr said demand is increasing for tailored energy solutions across African industries. At Kiira Motors, chief executive Paul Isaac Musasizi said reliable on-site fuel is important as the state-owned automaker expands production of Kayoola buses and supports testing and logistics in Jinja. At WIH Cement, chief executive Ma Chao said steady fuel supply is vital for heavy machinery and transport operations at the Moroto plant.

More broadly, the move reflects a wider trend in industrial energy supply toward dedicated on-site fuel systems that aim to improve operational continuity. The Independent noted that Vivo Energy is expanding its commercial fuels business across sectors including construction, manufacturing, agriculture and transport.
