Vinicius Jr to miss Barcelona game because of ban

What the report says
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr will miss next month’s El Clasico against Barcelona after the Spanish football federation handed him a four-match suspension, BBC Sport Football reported. The ban follows his red card in Madrid’s 1-0 win over Villarreal, where he was sent off after pulling an opponent’s hair in an off-the-ball incident.
According to the report, the punishment means Vinicius will be unavailable for league matches against Sevilla, Barcelona, Racing Santander and Valencia. The sending-off also led to a goal being ruled out after the referee used the pitchside monitor to review the sequence before showing the red card.
BBC Sport said the federation’s disciplinary committee split the sanction between two matches for violent conduct and two for dissent or protests toward officials. Vinicius later apologised publicly on social media, saying he was sorry to his teammates and supporters. The case matters because it removes one of Real Madrid’s key attackers from a major rivalry fixture and several other domestic games during a busy period of the season.
As general context, disciplinary bans in Spanish football can be applied separately for the on-field action and for behaviour toward officials, which is why suspensions are sometimes longer than a straight red-card punishment might suggest.
