Victoria University Unveils Designs for New Naguru Campus

What the report says
Victoria University says it plans to expand its footprint in Kampala with a new campus in Naguru, near Phaneroo, with construction expected to begin this year. The update was shared by Vice Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga, who posted design impressions of the project and described it as a major step for the institution and its students.
According to Watchdog Uganda, the images show a modern campus design that Muganga said might initially look computer-generated, but are in fact the real architectural plans for the university’s new home. He said the team is excited to see the plans turn into a physical facility that students and staff can use for learning and interaction.
The report places the site in one of Kampala’s fast-developing areas, suggesting the project is part of the university’s broader growth in the capital. Victoria University is based in Kampala and has presented itself around innovation, practical learning and digitally enabled education, which gives the new campus added significance as a visible extension of that identity.
Beyond the announcement of the designs and the anticipated start of construction, no further timeline, budget or completion date was provided in the source. Still, the project matters because it signals continued investment in higher education infrastructure in Kampala and a possible expansion of facilities in a growing part of the city.
