US country music star Ella Langley cancels show due to 'security threat'

What the report says
US country singer Ella Langley cancelled a sold-out concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Friday night after what she described as a serious security threat. According to BBC News, the decision came about two hours before the show was due to begin at the BOK Center, a 19,000-seat arena. In an Instagram message, Langley said the concern involved the safety of fans, venue staff and her team, and she apologised for what she called an incredibly difficult choice.
Tulsa police said the venue was checked several times before the show and again after a phone call reporting possible harm, including threats of shots fired and bombs. Police said they could not find a credible threat. A police representative said officers and sniffer dogs swept the arena, but the source of the call disrupted the event for thousands of fans.
The BOK Center also said the concert could not proceed and stressed that safety was its top priority. Langley said more information on ticket refunds would follow. The cancellation comes during a strong period for the Alabama-born artist, whose song Choosin’ Texas recently topped US country charts for an extended run and helped her win major Academy of Country Music Awards earlier this year.
