US attacks Iran as Houthis allow Chinese ships to pass: What’s the latest? - Al Jazeera

What the report says
Al Jazeera reported that the United States carried out another night of attacks on Iran, with US Central Command saying its latest strikes ended at 01:00 GMT on Friday. According to the report, CENTCOM said the targets included Iranian military command centres, drone storage sites, communications systems, coastal surveillance locations and maritime-related capabilities. Iranian media cited by Al Jazeera reported explosions or attacks in several areas, including Khondab, Khorramabad, Konarak, Jask, Andimeshk, Omidiyeh, Qeshm island and Bandar Abbas.
The article said reported casualties varied by location. Fars, citing a provincial official, reported two injuries after a drone attack on Khorramabad, while Iranian outlets said attacks on Bandar Abbas injured two people. Tasnim reported four deaths and five injuries in a US missile attack near Ahvaz. Mehr reported no casualties from strikes on Andimeshk and Omidiyeh.
Al Jazeera also reported intensified shipping disruption. Ship-tracking data showed only one tanker crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, the lowest figure since May 7. At the same time, London Stock Exchange Group shipping data showed two Chinese supertankers carrying Saudi crude left the Bab al-Mandeb strait on Friday, despite a naval blockade announced by Yemen’s Houthis against Saudi Arabia earlier in the week.
The report said Iran claimed drone attacks on Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain and the Muwaffaq Salti/Al-Azraq base in Jordan. It also cited US President Donald Trump as warning of a possible larger attack on Iran, while Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi objected to any use of frozen Iranian assets to pay future claims. The developments matter because they combine direct military escalation with pressure on two critical maritime routes for global energy trade.
