Urban Ratib takes African entertainment influence to digital revolution as QR ambassador

What the report says
KAMPALA, Uganda — Watchdog Uganda reports that Urban Ratib has been named an ambassador for QR Revolution, a digital business platform that aims to link entrepreneurs, service providers and customers through technology. The appointment places a figure better known in Uganda’s entertainment and social circles into a public-facing role promoting digital tools for business growth.
According to the publication, Ratib has built recognition through event organising, industry relationships and community-minded messaging tied to the African idea of Ubuntu. The article says his new role is intended to encourage businesses to use QR-based digital services to market products, take orders, gather feedback and manage operations through a single dashboard. The platform’s slogan is presented as “Connect. Engage. Grow.”
The piece also frames the appointment as part of a wider shift in which entertainers and event organisers increasingly rely on online platforms to reach audiences and customers. Ratib is quoted endorsing the service, while the report says he sees the ambassadorship as a way to connect his entertainment profile with the business community.
Watchdog Uganda additionally links Ratib’s public image to charity work, noting his involvement with a planned outreach in Katanga, Kampala, alongside singer Lydia Jasmine and the Socialite Association in Uganda. The initiative, as described by the publisher, is meant to support disadvantaged children and families through food and practical assistance. The report says the development reflects Ratib’s emphasis on community support as well as commerce.
