UPDF opens pre-mission training for UN Guard Unit 13

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces has begun pre-mission training for personnel of United Nations Guard Unit 13 at the International Peace Support Operations Training Centre in Singo, according to Nile Post. The training was opened by the commandant of the Singo centre, Col Moses Nabaasa, who said the course is meant to equip the personnel with the knowledge and practical preparation needed for peace support operations. Col Nabaasa urged the trainees to remain disciplined throughout the course and avoid habits that could undermine performance, including excessive alcohol use. He also stressed the importance of good physical, mental and emotional health in peacekeeping work. The session was attended by the chief instructor, Lt Col Morris Kimuku, together with other officers.
