UNEB Secures PLE Registration for 11 Wakiso Pupils After School’s Late Discovery

What the report says
The Uganda National Examinations Board has resolved a registration problem affecting 11 Primary Leaving Examination candidates from Skyland Primary School in Wakiso District, after the school discovered the pupils had been left off the 2026 PLE candidate list. According to UNEB principal public relations officer Jennifer Kalule Musamba, the issue emerged during candidate briefing ahead of the exams.
Musamba said Skyland Primary School did not have its own examination centre number and had depended on another school in Mukono District to handle registration. The arrangement later failed, and the school contacted UNEB once it noticed the pupils had not been registered. UNEB then helped identify an alternative centre so the learners could be included in the examination process.
Musamba confirmed that the 11 pupils were eventually registered at Kyebando UMEA Primary School, also in Wakiso, meaning they will be able to sit the examinations. The development underscores the need for schools and parents to verify candidate registration details early enough to avoid administrative errors that could disrupt learners’ academic progress.
In a broader context, UNEB says it expects 920,833 candidates to sit the 2026 PLE across 16,478 centres nationwide, a rise from the previous year. The board has also said it is distributing exam materials and urging centre heads to brief candidates carefully as the country prepares for the two-day examination exercise.
