UNEB Closes 2026 Late Registration Today, Rules Out Any Further Extension

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has said late registration for candidates due to sit the 2026 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) will end at midnight on Friday, with no further extension. According to the board, learners who are not registered by the deadline will not be allowed to take the national examinations this year.

UNEB issued the reminder to school heads, directors and examination centre leaders, urging them to complete registration for all eligible learners and to submit the required files before the portal closes. The board also clarified that a candidate is only regarded as fully registered after the registration invoice has been paid in full.

The article reports that the late-registration charges include surcharges: PLE candidates are to pay Shs68,000, while UCE and UACE candidates are charged Shs246,000 and Shs279,000 respectively.
