Ukraine hits Russian Starlink-style network, Moscow tracks arms package

What the report says
Ukraine said it carried out a series of long-range attacks inside Russia, including strikes on a military airfield and the Progress Centre rocket facility in the southwestern Samara region, which Al Jazeera reported supports a satellite internet network used by Russia’s military. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces used domestically produced Flamingo cruise missiles in the operation, underscoring Kyiv’s effort to expand its strike range against Russian targets.
According to the report, the Progress Centre is linked to Roscosmos and produces rocket technology and electronics. Ukraine also said it hit Savasleyka air base, while Russian officials acknowledged damage in Samara. The mayor of Samara said air defences intercepted a large attack, and local industrial sites were affected. In the Moscow region, a Ukrainian drone reportedly struck a house in Shatura, injuring two people, including a child.
The article also noted continued Russian attacks on Ukraine. Local officials in the southeastern town of Marhanets said a strike on an apartment block killed a three-month-old baby. The fighting comes as both sides keep targeting infrastructure and military sites far from the front line.
Separately, Moscow said it wants clarification from Washington and Ankara about reports of a possible transfer to Kyiv of a substantial stock of U.S. weapons and ammunition held by Turkiye. Russia’s Foreign Ministry said such a move would damage its ties with both countries.
