Uganda: Two Bodies Recovered From Collapsed Entebbe Church Building

What the report says
Rescue teams in Uganda recovered two bodies from the rubble of a church building that collapsed under construction at Holy City Church in Bwerenga, Katabi Town Council, in Wakiso District, according to the Nile Post report distributed by AllAfrica. Police had publicly confirmed one death at the time of reporting, while search and rescue crews continued working at the site to check whether anyone else remained trapped.
The building was described as an extension of the main church structure and was said to have reached the fourth floor when it gave way. Police said about 22 people had been rescued and taken to Entebbe Grade B Hospital for medical care. One of the deceased was reported to be a resident of Nansana Municipality, though the person’s identity was being withheld.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala said investigations were ongoing and that officers were still gathering details from the scene. The collapse has drawn attention because it raises questions about safety on large construction projects and emergency preparedness at busy religious sites. The report did not state what caused the structure to fail, and authorities had not yet given a full accounting of casualties or confirmed the second body recovery at the time of publication.
