Uganda Targets Global Weddings and Conferences Market Through ADCCE 2026

What the report says
Uganda is using the inaugural Africa Destination Celebrations Conference and Expo (ADCCE) 2026 to position itself more strongly in the global weddings, conferences and events market, according to Nile Post. The two-day gathering took place on October 12 and 13 at Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala, and drew planners and tourism stakeholders from Africa, Europe and Asia.
The event was designed to connect international buyers with African hospitality, creative and tourism businesses. Organizers said the wider goal is to shift perceptions of Africa beyond wildlife safaris and leisure travel, and to showcase the continent as a place for destination weddings, corporate retreats, milestone celebrations and business events. Delegates came from countries including Nigeria, Kenya, the United Kingdom, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Romania and India.
Jackline Nanteza, who founded ADCCE, said the platform was created to help African sectors that often work separately to build partnerships and compete more effectively for international business. She argued that a single destination wedding or conference can support multiple local industries, including airlines, hotels, transport, catering, photography and entertainment. Christine Ogbeh, an event planner and founder of Quoram Africa, said service quality and distinctive local experiences will be essential if African destinations want to attract repeat business.
For Uganda, the push could help diversify tourism earnings and reduce reliance on safari-focused travel. More broadly, ADCCE aims to become a rotating continental platform that raises Africa’s visibility in the global events industry and connects local providers with international clients.
