Nile Post reports that Uganda International Fashion Week 2026 has been moved to August 31 through September 5, after an earlier postponement linked to the Ebola outbreak. The event, organised by ARAPAPA by Santa Anzo, had originally been planned for June 22 to 27, but was deferred when public gatherings were suspended as part of government containment measures. Organisers confirmed the revised schedule after Uganda was declared Ebola-free.

According to the report, the Grand Finale Gala is set for September 5 at Kampala Serena Hotel, while the venue for the fashion expo is still to be announced. Tickets for the gala are now available, with Platinum front-row seats priced at Shs250,000, Gold second-row seats at Shs150,000 and Silver third-row seats at Shs100,000. Purchases can be made through MTN MoMo using the app or the USSD code provided by organisers.

Santa Anzo, the ARAPAPA founder, said the delay was necessary for public health reasons and had allowed additional preparation time. Nile Post reports that the planned runway shows, exhibitions, forums, training activities, networking sessions and partnership engagements are expected to proceed. The 2026 edition will run under the theme “Fashion for Impact,” focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable economic development.

The event, founded in 2003 by Anzo under the ARAPAPA brand, is presented as a platform for Ugandan and African fashion creatives to reach buyers, partners and wider markets. Organisers said registration remains open through the official UIFW website for designers, exhibitors, manufacturers, partners and other participants. The free CREATE programme, scheduled for August 31 to September 2, is aimed at supporting participation by persons with disabilities, refugees, women, girls and youth.
