Tyson Fury has said his long-anticipated all-British heavyweight bout with Anthony Joshua will take place at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, according to Al Jazeera. The fight does not yet have a fixed date, but it is expected in November after both boxers signed a contract linked to Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chair, Turki Alalshikh.

The matchup has been described as one of the biggest in British boxing because both men are former heavyweight champions with major international followings. Fury announced the venue on social media and called it a major stage for the contest, though some fans questioned why two British fighters would meet in the United States rather than in the UK.

Al Jazeera reported that Fury, who turned 38 in August, has won 36 professional fights and lost only twice, both against Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. He had said in January that he was returning to boxing after retiring in December 2024. Joshua and Fury first failed to finalize a fight in 2021, when other contractual obligations intervened. In the buildup to this latest agreement, Fury also fought a tune-up bout in Thailand in July.
