The July 28 victory, driven by Royce Lewis’ two-run double in the ninth inning, left Minnesota close to the American League Wild Card race and within range in the AL Central.

General manager Jeremy Zoll told reporters the front office has been preparing for a “buy” scenario, with bullpen help identified as the clearest need. According to MLB Trade Rumors, that stance likely reduces the chances that catcher Ryan Jeffers or starting pitcher Joe Ryan are traded. Jeffers had drawn interest as a pending free agent catcher, while Ryan would have been one of the stronger starting pitchers potentially available because of his performance and remaining team control.
