TwinBrook Schools Celebrates 127 Pupils After Completing First Quranic Text

TwinBrook Schools in Uganda marked a Quranic education milestone after 127 pupils completed the first book of Yasarna, a foundational text used in learning to recite and memorise the Holy Quran. According to Nile Post, the celebration brought together school leaders, parents, religious figures and other education stakeholders who praised the pupils’ discipline and progress.

The ceremony also included a donation from Sheikh Mahmood Ssekyimwanyi, director of Saqeef Travels, who gave 150 copies of Yasarna to help sustain the programme for other learners. He also presented an Umra package to the school’s Head of Theology in recognition of the department’s role in supporting Islamic education. The report says the new books are expected to assist hundreds of pupils in the next term.

Religious leader Sheikh Nauman Muhammad Mbogo urged parents to stay closely involved in their children’s Quranic studies, while TwinBrook Schools Director Hajj Jaffer said the institution would continue combining Islamic theology with secular subjects. The school described this as part of its aim to produce students who are grounded in faith and prepared for wider society.

The event highlights the growing emphasis on Islamic education within the school community and the importance of partnerships between families, religious leaders and institutions in supporting Quranic learning.
