Tusker Lite Neon Raves Returns with DJ Battles in Tooro

What the report says
Nile Post reports that Tusker Lite Neon Raves is returning to the Tooro region this weekend for a three-day entertainment programme built around live DJ battles. The latest edition shifts the platform’s emphasis from earlier dance competitions to DJs, with contests designed to test mixing, creativity, crowd control and musical flow as part of the brand’s wider engagement with Uganda’s nightlife culture.
According to the report, Tusker Lite Brand Manager Sandra Againe said the event falls under the company’s “Own Your Lite” campaign, which promotes youth self-expression across different creative spaces. Nile Post says the brand is positioning DJs as central contributors to entertainment experiences, after previously using Neon Raves to spotlight dance talent across Uganda.
The planned battles include DJ Mercy Pro against Trizzy Vybz at Le Rêve Bar, and Selecta Jeff against Edu Mystique in separate appearances at Beer Nyama, Tooro Botanical Gardens and Diplomat’s Lounge. The format will require participants to react to each other’s selections in real time, maintain smooth transitions and keep audiences engaged, rather than simply performing standard club sets.
Nile Post frames the event against growing public interest in Uganda’s DJ scene, where technical skill, stage presence and the ability to read a crowd have become more visible parts of nightlife competition. More broadly, the return of Neon Raves to Tooro reflects how beverage and entertainment brands are using regional activations to connect with young audiences while giving DJs and MCs a larger platform within Uganda’s music culture.
