Tune Adds Six New Nano Road Wheels Including Nano CS with Patented Carbon Spoke/Hub Interface - Bikerumor

Bikerumor.com reports that German component maker Tune has expanded its Nano wheel platform from gravel to road with six new wheelsets. The lineup includes Nano Road 35, 45 and 60 models, along with carbon-spoke Nano CS Road versions in the same depths. The Nano range is positioned below Tune’s high-end Yokto series and is intended to combine low weight with broader everyday and race use.

The main technical feature highlighted in the report is the Nano CS hub design for carbon spokes. Bikerumor says Tune uses a patented hub shell with ball-milled spoke-hole geometry, intended to let carbon spokes align more naturally between hub and rim. The approach is meant to reduce stress at the spoke, hub and rim interface, a concern because carbon spokes do not tolerate angle correction in the same way steel spokes can.

According to the article, the Nano CS wheels use 20 spokes front and rear, while CS hubs are offered in 20- and 24-hole configurations. Listed hubset weights are 278 grams for a 20/20 XDR setup and 288 grams for 24/24 XDR. Freehub support includes SRAM XDR, Shimano HG, Shimano Microspline and Campagnolo N3W, with Enduro ABEC-5 bearings standard and a hybrid ceramic option available.

All six road models use hooked carbon rims with 24mm internal and 32mm external widths, and Tune lists tire compatibility from 28mm to 45mm. Bikerumor reports weights from 1,280g to 1,440g for the steel-spoke Nano Road wheels and from 1,180g to 1,350g for the Nano CS versions, with UCI approval and a 130kg maximum system weight.
