Tumusiime wins NCBA Bank Golf Series finale

What the report says
Michael Tumusiime won the final Ugandan qualifier of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series after carding 75 net at Entebbe Club on October 3, according to The Independent Uganda. His victory secures an all-expenses-paid place at the regional Grand Finale in Nairobi, where he will represent Uganda alongside Joseph Cwinyaai, who won the first local qualifier earlier in the year.
The Entebbe event drew 192 players and produced winners across multiple divisions and side competitions. The report said Serwano Walusimbi finished second overall with 80, while Patrick Mugisha placed fourth with 81. Other category winners included Saidi Kirarira, Aldomoro Brian, Edmond Tayebwa, Martha Babirye, Connie Nshemereirwe, Lucas Francis Kiyemba, and several special-prize recipients.
NCBA Bank Uganda CEO Mark Muyobo said the series is meant to develop golfing talent and create chances for players to compete beyond Uganda. The bank also used the event to support a community effort, donating 50 household water filters to vulnerable families at Kasenyi Landing Site with Vision Child Healthcare and Education Initiative.
The Nairobi finale is scheduled for November 27 and will bring together qualifiers from NCBA markets across the region. More broadly, the tournament reflects how corporate-backed golf series can serve both sporting development and community outreach in East Africa.
