Trump warns of largest strikes on Iran yet as Tehran lashes out across Gulf - Al Jazeera

What the report says
Al Jazeera reported that the United States carried out its 13th consecutive night of strikes inside Iran, with Iranian state media saying at least four people were killed and five injured around Ahvaz in Khuzestan province. US Central Command said the operation targeted Iranian command sites, drone storage, communications systems, coastal surveillance and maritime assets, describing the strikes as a response to threats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps against commercial shipping.
Iran said it retaliated with drone and missile attacks on US-linked military facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. Iranian military statements claimed targets included Sheikh Isa Airbase in Bahrain, Muwaffaq Salti/Al-Azraq base in Jordan and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. Bahrain said it intercepted several attacks and accused Iran of targeting civilians and private property, while Jordan said it downed Iranian missiles and drones. Amazon and Bahraini authorities had not commented on an Iranian claim that an Amazon-linked intelligence data centre in Bahrain was destroyed.
The escalation followed comments by US President Donald Trump to Axios that he was considering what he described as a massive strike on Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that further attacks would bring retaliation, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended Trump’s tougher posture. Al Jazeera said the confrontation has badly undermined an interim US-Iran peace deal signed last month.
The wider regional impact is also growing. Al Jazeera reported that Yemen’s Houthis attacked two Saudi tankers in the Red Sea, drawing condemnation and pushing oil prices higher. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned the Security Council that interconnected crises in the region risk further escalation.
