What the report says

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to sign Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush on loan for the rest of the season, with the move set to become permanent for £60m next summer, according to BBC Sport Football. The 27-year-old Egypt international is the latest addition to a busy Spurs transfer window and will also reunite with former City teammate Savio, who joined the north London club earlier in the week.

Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for £59m and has since scored 16 goals in 62 appearances in all competitions. BBC Sport Football said he had struggled for regular starts under City’s first-choice attacking setup, with several recent appearances coming from the bench or as an unused substitute.

The article places the deal in the context of Tottenham’s heavy summer spending, which BBC Sport Football said has now topped £312m. Spurs have also added a number of other players during the window, including Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Jan Paul van Hecke, while several others have arrived on free transfers. In comments carried by the BBC, Marmoush described Tottenham as a major club and said the project appealed to him, while head coach Roberto de Zerbi said the forward’s pace and attacking quality could strengthen the team’s attack.
