According to the Post, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said Romo was stopped shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 43. The article said he is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 21, which falls on the Monday after Week 2 of the NFL season. The Post also cited the California Post as reporting, based on sheriff records, that Romo refused an intoxication test after his arrest.

The report said Romo had recently competed in the Wisconsin Amateur Championship, where he made the cut and finished 35-over par. The Daily Mail, as cited by the Post, reported that Romo contacted CBS leadership soon after the incident and canceled a planned golf tournament appearance while preparing for the upcoming NFL season.
