What the report says

Police in Luuka District are investigating a violent attack in which three people, including a two-year-old child, were killed inside their home and the house was later set on fire, according to Nile Post. The incident happened overnight on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Kimanto A Village, Budondo Parish, Bukanga Sub-County.

The victims were identified as Denis Charles Isabirye, 35, a boda boda rider, Nakasango, also known as Shamillah Kampi, 26, and Shamillah’s two-year-old son. Police said the bodies were found on Saturday after the fire had been extinguished or had burned out, and a local council leader alerted authorities around 11 a.m. A joint team from nearby police posts and the district police responded to the scene.

Investigators say a preliminary examination showed the victims had multiple cut wounds, indicating they were attacked before the house was burned. Police also reported that a motorcycle believed to have been used by one of the deceased was missing, making it a possible lead in the case.

Busoga North Regional Police spokesperson SP Samson Lubega said statements had been taken from witnesses and several lines of inquiry were being followed to establish the motive and identify the attackers. Police have asked residents in Kimanto A and surrounding areas to remain calm and share any information that could help trace the missing motorcycle or explain unusual activity in the village that night.
