Three Nabbed With Suspected Stolen Cow

What the report says
Police in Hoima have arrested three men suspected of cattle theft after intercepting a Toyota Noah vehicle that was reportedly carrying two cows along the Hoima-Kagadi Road, according to Nile Post. The arrests took place in Businsi, Hoima City, after officers acted on information from members of the public about a vehicle believed to be transporting stolen livestock.
Albertine South police spokesperson Julius Hakiza said officers from the area and the Flying Squad moved in and stopped the vehicle, which the article identified by registration number UA 159AY. The three suspects were later displayed at Albertine South Police headquarters in Hoima together with the recovered cows.
Police said the men had not yet been questioned in detail and that investigators were still trying to determine where the animals came from and whether the vehicle was part of a wider pattern of cattle theft. Hakiza suggested that some thieves may be using private vehicles, especially Toyota Noahs, to move stolen cows to other places. He also encouraged residents to keep reporting suspicious activity, noting that cattle theft often rises around the festive season.
The report adds that police are continuing inquiries into ownership of the animals and the circumstances of the transport, while also pointing to a similar previous case involving another Toyota Noah suspected of carrying stolen cows.
