Three injured in third school attack in Poland in less than a week

What the report says
Police in Warsaw said three people were injured on Saturday in a stabbing attack at a further education college, marking the third school-related attack in Poland in less than a week, according to Al Jazeera. The incident took place at about 12:30pm local time at an institution that remained open on a Saturday because it serves higher education students. Police said the suspect, a 21-year-old woman, used a dangerous object and did not know the victims. One of the injured was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, while two others were treated without hospitalization.
The attack follows a tense week for schools in Poland after two earlier assaults in the Mazovian province. On Wednesday, a 19-year-old student allegedly attacked people at a vocational school, injuring nine. On Thursday, a 15-year-old killed a school custodian and wounded two others at his former primary school. The violence has raised concern about copycat attacks among young people, though authorities have not confirmed any link between the cases.
Al Jazeera also reported that Polish police detained 76 people nationwide and checked nearly 50,000 schools as part of precautionary measures. Security was increased at schools across the country, with some classes suspended and some parents keeping children at home. The developments have prompted broader public anxiety and a large police response, even as officials say there is no verified evidence of a coordinated online challenge behind the incidents.
