Three dead, four injured in Namirembe Road crash

What the report says
Three people were killed and four others injured in a traffic crash on Namirembe Road in Kampala, according to Nile Post. The incident happened on the morning of October 5, 2026, near KK Building, when a Toyota Drone reportedly lost control while descending a steep section of the road.
Traffic Police spokesperson SP Michael Kananura said the vehicle first struck a pedestrian, who died at the scene, before hitting a tricycle and a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle. The car then came to rest after colliding with a Toyota Hiace. Police identified the vehicles by registration numbers and said the sequence of impacts involved multiple road users and vehicles.
Police said four people were taken to hospital after the crash, and two later died from their injuries, raising the death toll to three. The exact cause is still under investigation, but preliminary information points to the driver losing control on the slope. Authorities also used the incident to remind motorists to be careful on steep roads and to keep vehicles in roadworthy condition.
The crash adds to ongoing concern about road safety in Kampala and across Uganda, where police regularly urge drivers to reduce speed, maintain their vehicles and take extra care on difficult road sections.
