Simscommunity.info reported that The Sims Team released a new update for The Sims 4 on July 21, 2026, for PC, Mac, PlayStation and Xbox platforms. The patch is available through EA App, Origin, Steam and Epic Games on desktop, and through standard update checks on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Listed versions include PC 1.126.58.1030, Mac 1.126.58.1230 and console 2.36.

The main change is the arrival of Autosave and Save Reminders across all supported platforms. According to the published patch notes, Autosave can create save points in the background at selected moments, such as after travel, intervals of playtime or key gameplay milestones. Players can also configure reminder notifications if they prefer to save manually. The update also introduces “Memory Boost,” described as an improvement to how the game handles memory, with expected benefits including smoother play, better responsiveness, shorter loading and fewer memory-related crashes.

The patch adds eight new Create a Sim starter Sims and eight accessories inspired by Caribbean, Indigenous, Latin American and South Asian cultures, with the Sims also available through the Maxis Gallery. Other additions include a free Coach Repurposed Capsule on the Marketplace, the Music Den Kit, more notification controls, PlayStation access to Marketplace Quick Buy, and new swatches for a City Living stove.

Sims Community also cautioned that the update affects core systems such as autonomy and Create a Sim, meaning some mods may stop working until their creators issue compatible versions.
