The Best Food Storage Container Isn't Pyrex, Per Consumer Reports - Daily Meal

What the report says
The Daily Meal reported that Consumer Reports rated IKEA’s 34-ounce 365+ stainless steel food storage container with a plastic lid as its top food storage pick, ahead of well-known options including Pyrex, Rubbermaid and Bentgo. The July 24 report by Javaria Akbar noted that Pyrex is often closely associated with food storage because of its long history and heat-resistant glass products, but Consumer Reports’ top-rated container was not from the legacy glass brand.
According to The Daily Meal, the IKEA container received perfect marks from Consumer Reports for the quality of its seal, durability and ease of use. The stainless steel base can be used in the refrigerator, freezer and oven, and the article said its size also makes it suitable for some air fryers. The plastic lid has a polypropylene seal described as leakproof, and it is listed as freezer- and dishwasher-safe.
The article reported the price as $6.99 for the stainless steel base and $2 for the plastic lid, for a combined cost of $8.99. IKEA also sells a bamboo lid option, but The Daily Meal noted that it is not airtight or leakproof and is priced close to the container base itself.
The Daily Meal added that the product has more than 1,500 five-star reviews on IKEA’s website and cited online users who praised its stackability, freezer use and dishwasher cleanup. The report also noted that some commenters preferred the plastic lid over the bamboo version because of its more secure fit.
