The 1975's Matty Healy marries model Gabbriette Bechtel in Los Angeles

What the report says
BBC World News reports that Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975, has married model and musician Gabbriette Bechtel in Los Angeles. According to the BBC, representatives for the couple said the wedding took place on Saturday in a private ceremony with family and close friends present. The article, published 19 July 2026, said several US outlets reported that the event was held at Madonna’s former Hollywood Hills estate, with guests said to include Charli XCX.
The BBC reported that Healy, 37, and Bechtel, 28, became engaged in 2024 after nine months together. Bechtel had posted an Instagram image showing a black diamond ring and wrote, “Marrying The 1975 is very brat,” while Healy’s mother, television personality Denise Welch, later confirmed the engagement on a podcast. The pair were first linked in 2023, after Healy’s brief relationship with Taylor Swift.
Bechtel is known as a model and as the lead singer and songwriter of the punk band Nasty Cherry, which was formed by Charli XCX. The BBC also noted social media posts and videos linked to pre-wedding celebrations, including Bechtel’s Las Vegas hen party and Healy reportedly performing with a tribute band at his stag do.
The marriage draws wider attention because of The 1975’s profile in British pop and alternative music. The band have released several UK number one albums, including their self-titled debut, Notes On A Conditional Form and Being Funny In A Foreign Language, and recently entered an “indefinite hiatus” from live performances. The BBC said it had contacted Healy and Bechtel for comment.
