According to the article, investigators believe the school may have claimed 853 students in its records even though officials say the school has only 147 learners. Preliminary findings cited by The Observer suggest the alleged false enrolment may have helped the school receive about Shs 37 million per term from government allocations linked to student numbers. The two suspects were taken to Kapchorwa Central Police Station while inquiries continue.

The case raises broader concerns about possible misuse of education funds and the reliability of school enrolment data used for public financing. Police, through Sipi spokesperson Fredmark Chesang, said further investigations will examine how the discrepancies were created and whether additional officials were involved.
