TECNO has unveiled a concept smartphone that it says pushes display design toward a true zero-bezel look, with a screen border reduced to what the company describes as 0mm. The Chinese maker teased the TECNO Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone in a video released on July 31, according to The Independent Uganda, and plans to present it publicly at the IFA 2026 Showstoppers event in September.

The publisher reported that the device is designed to remove the visible black edge that usually separates a phone’s active display from its frame. TECNO says it had to rethink the phone’s internal structure, using advanced stacking, re-engineered components and new packaging methods to make the display appear to reach the device’s outer edge. The company says this approach could improve immersion for video, gaming, reading and browsing by giving users more uninterrupted screen space.

Beyond the visual effect, TECNO is framing the concept as part of a wider effort to design smartphones for an AI-driven future. The company says the work behind the prototype also touches on cameras, touch sensitivity, sound and user-interface interactions. As with many concept devices, the article notes that it is a demonstration of technical possibilities rather than a confirmed mass-market product.

The report adds that the challenge now is whether TECNO can turn the idea into a durable, practical phone without sacrificing protection, responsiveness or build quality.
