Tayebwa Pays Tribute to Gen Moses Ali as Statesman, Patriot and Mentor

Nile Post reported that Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa paid tribute to Gen. (Rtd) Moses Ali during his funeral at Paridi Stadium in Adjumani District on Wednesday, describing the former First Deputy Prime Minister and Adjumani West County MP as a national figure whose public service, humility and commitment to unity shaped Uganda’s political life. Tayebwa said Ali had also personally mentored him, including during his time as Government Chief Whip, and conveyed condolences from Parliament and the Speaker.

According to the report, President Yoweri Museveni said Ali died at about 4:00pm on Saturday at Nakasero Hospital after admission for unspecified ailments, while family members said he had been in a coma before his death. He was 87. Nile Post said regional leaders and representatives from West Nile attended the tribute before Ali was buried at Takwa Mosque Cemetery following Janaza prayers.
