What the report says

Fox Business reported that PT Organics Limited has issued a voluntary recall for certain Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry fruit purée pouches sold nationwide at Target, Kroger and Meijer. The Food and Drug Administration published the recall Tuesday, citing a packaging problem that could leave strands of soft, food-grade plastic inside some pouches.

The recall covers 4-ounce, or 113-gram, pouches sold from March 6 through July 13, according to the Lake Oswego, Oregon-based company. PT Organics said the issue followed a recall by its packaging supplier of a defective pouch production run. Company inspections found that some finished products had a plastic strand attached to the inside of the packaging; the company said the problem was tied to the pouch material, not the fruit purée itself.

Consumers are being told to check for barcode 8 15367 01078 0, lane number 4 on the rear right-side seam, and best-by dates of Jan. 19, 2027; Jan. 20, 2027; March 17, 2027; March 18, 2027; May 14, 2027; or May 15, 2027. PT Organics said no injuries have been reported and that no other Pumpkin Tree products, flavors or best-by dates are part of the recall.

Customers who have affected pouches should not consume them or give them to anyone else. The company advised disposal or returning the product to the store for a refund, and directed questions to Pumpkin Tree’s website or its consumer support line at 888-566-2363 during weekday business hours.
