Swans' Eom the target of alleged racism at Millwall

What the report says
Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos said a lengthy stoppage during his side’s 1-0 Championship win at Millwall was caused by racist abuse directed at winger Ji-sung Eom. The South Korea international was on the bench and warming up at The Den when play was halted for about seven minutes in the second half.
Referee Edward Duckworth spoke with both coaching staffs before the match resumed. An announcement at the ground later said there had been alleged racist chants and that police were trying to identify any offenders using CCTV. Millwall said it was aware of an alleged discriminatory incident involving a Swansea player and said any proven abuse would bring the strongest possible action, while also confirming support for the police investigation.
Matos said the protocol was followed correctly and stressed there is no place for such behaviour. He added that the Swansea squad would support Eom, who he described as unhappy but able to rely on teammates. The incident overshadowed Ronald’s late winner, which kept Swansea two points clear at the top of the Championship and continued a strong start to the season. The BBC report noted that the club’s current form is their best opening in around a century.
