Nile Post reports that Sulaiman Masimbi has been elected Local Council I chairperson for Kyamabaale Village in Kisojjo Parish, Bukomansimbi District, after a narrow victory over Vincent Yiga Kagaali. According to the report, Masimbi received 128 votes, while Kagaali got 115, leaving a winning margin of 13 votes.

Two other candidates in the race, Dominic Ntege and Edward Owantamu, did not receive any votes, the publisher reported. The election was said to have proceeded peacefully, with residents taking part through the lining-up voting system used in Uganda’s LC I elections. Masimbi, after being declared winner, thanked voters for supporting him and said he would work for all residents, including those who backed other candidates.
